The wedding weekend of Sofía Sanchez Barrenechea and Alexandre de Betak were one for the books. Sofía sported several designer dresses for each event. The wedding was back in December on a deserted beach in Patagonia. White tie was the attire throughout the weekend, handing out Maison Michel flower crowns to guests as they arrived to the dockless beach.
The groom sported white tie and tails which was custom Berluti. The bride arrived on the bow of the wooden speedboat in her custom Valentino dress (that took 1,800 hours worth of bas-relief pearl and crystal embroidery). They later had a cumbia dance party, which took place in a barn in the lakeside town of Villa La Angostura, where the bride dawned (not one but two) Rodarte dresses. A floor skimming silk, tulle, and lace dress with winglike sleeves and silver-and-cream embroidered flowers, and the second a short feather-embroidered white lace-and-iridescent sequin frock.
The bride and groom returned to their house with the band and 30 or so friends and family at 8:30 am rest before the morning’s tango brunch. Despite a severe lack of sleep and a cumbia-induced sprained ankle, the bride looked stunning in a slinkly Anthony Vaccarello halter-neck dress. Ultimately, the wedding and weekend was filled with music, love, and fashion!

“Your eyes are the eyes of a woman in love” reads an inscription on one of the collection’s flame red gowns. Valentino, of course, makes us fall in love with all his 97 presented looks in the collection. This collection is a romantic modern look with a 70’s spirit. Our favorite looks are one for the stars, inspired by Botticelli’s La Primavera, there are celestial dark blue ensembles embroidered with stars, galaxies and constellations. Head to Vogue for more!

Since everyone is preparing for a white Christmas, what better way to spend the Friday morning than binging on photos of Valentino’s new Couture collection. The all white collection debuted light-as-a-feather dresses and gowns of white chiffon, lace, and plisse organza. On Wednesday, in New York, the Valentino Sala Bianca Haute Couture quietly unfolded. While the regularly scheduled Spring 2015 Couture collection will be presented according to plan in Paris in January, this show was a celebration of “the original Valentino’s early, ’60s-era collections at the Sala Bianca in Florence and the Sfilata Bianca in Rome”.
