Feature Film : Two Days One Night, Inherent Vice

Here are the last films out of the list of 18 films nominated for the Oscars (there’s more nominated but these were the only ones I was interested in). I hoped you loved all the movies as much as I did, I am pretty thrilled this is the first year I have actually watched all the Oscar films I wanted to! Enjoy the Oscars tomorrow night!

Two Days, One Night follows a young Belgian mother, who discovers that her workmates have opted for a significant pay bonus, in exchange for her dismissal. She has only one weekend to convince her colleagues to give up their bonuses so that she can keep her job. (beware there are subtitles)

Inherent Vice is a period film set in 1970, that follows a drug-fueled Los Angeles detective, Larry “Doc” Sportello, who investigates the disappearance of a former girlfriend.

Feature Film : Interstellar, Unbroken, Mr. Turner

Interstellar is beautiful film about a young father chosen to save the human society. Not only is this film a fantastic CGI action packed film, it is also a love story between a father and daughter, it sounds cheesy but it is far from it. Truly not what I was expecting (in a very great way). It also has some surprise celebrity appearances.

Unbroken : After a near-fatal plane crash in WWII, Olympian Louis Zamperini spends a harrowing 47 days in a raft with two crewmen before he’s caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp. Directed in a stunning way by Angelina Jolie this film is true inspiration about a brave man.

Mr. Turner is a film about an exploration of the last quarter century of the great British painter J.M.W. Turner’s life.
